App took a long time to do, but finally managed to let me register after 45 mins (slow loading, and as others have mentioned, come out of the app to view verification code in text and it dumps you back to the start of the registration process). App worked for approx an hour, now as soon as I log in using either biometrics or the pass code, it just comes up with the 00002 error code when trying to load my account. Great first impression. No idea how to fix it.
It's now worse than ever. Works for a while and then one day a contactless payment won't work and you find the whole app just freezes and you have to "Force Stop" and restart it again, wait for it t realise you want contactless payments and eventually it'll start working again, for a while. Doesn't help it's a really badly designed app in the first place. If I didn't get cashback I wouldn't use it, as it happens I often use another card using GooglePay when this app stops working.
Not enough characters allowed for a proper explaination so here's the short version. I wanted the screens shown here - they are not in the app. I didn't want information about my Barclays account included - it is included, without the option. It duplicates the Barclays app with the exception of the one feature I wanted. tl/dr - worse than useless.
Can't save payment card details anymore. Use to have my card details saved to make a payment on my barclaycard credit card. The app was updated at some point and the details were removed, and now you can't save them again. You now have to enter details every time, it's very irritating. Slows everything, and it feels like intentional friction to get you to set up a direct debit (cheaper for barclay card to process than card payments). I don't want to set one up. Fix this please.
It's ok for adjusting my Direct Debit payment amount. It's terrible for viewing recent Barclaycard payments. It will group them by category, and buggily show totals for the week, month , or year, but not a simple chronological list of payments except by downloading a pdf of a statement once issued. So it's hard to check why the balance has changed or what I spent yesterday, for example. It tries, badly, to do something fancy without offering the basics.
