The app was fine for like a month, now every time I go onto it the app says I'm "offline" and I can't access anything. I'm not offline, I'm on WiFi or data but for whatever reason the app doesn't recognize this so I have to go onto the browser and do everything manually. Also progressive cancelled my renters insurance after I paid my auto insurance fully. Not related to the app, but don't expect any communication on matters like that because I still have no clue why it happened.
It does not record our driving accurately. On my husband's app, it says he had 3 events but when you click on it, the events are not listed. Plus, when on highway, it is inaccurrate because it's the highway and we have to accelerate at some points to get into the lanes. I don't feel like highway acceleration is recorded accurately. Highway is busy, sometimes we have to move a little fast to get with traffic. I would not call it acceleration because we need to move a little faster than how we do.
Bugs and inaccuracies need to be worked out. 7 minute drive today. Never even touched my phone. Stayed in my pocket. Still registered 4% phone usage. No idea how. Does not register well if with someone else who also has the app. Will freeze and need to be reinstalled on occasion (yes, I tried force stop, clear cache, and all the other tricks. I manage apps for a living). When this happens, you need to reinstall, log in, get the code, and set permissions all over again. Needs a LOT of work.
This app used to be so useful! Now it's basically just an ad for their other products and a payment reminder! Why did they wreck it?! You used to be able to do a bunch of stuff like add a driver or a vehicle to your policy right from the app, now anything like that is gone. It's a bunch of links to other policies or links to their website. What a lousy change. I'm considering switching insurers just to get back to the old convenience.
Update: This app records 60% of the time. And the times it does record, it doesn't record the route accurately (and I could show with ridesharing map). Old: I am tech savvy and this app is awful. It doesnt record our trips. It tells us we are at risk of losing the discount when we stay at home for more than 30 hours. I sent screenshots of our settings to customer service and they refused to help. They said to call or do the plug-in. No. Get it right.
