this app works well unless you need to change your phone number. I've been trying to change my phone number in the app for the last 3 months. it keeps saying it sends the confirmation code to my "other device". The problem is that I don't have another device! I've double checked, and telegram only lists one device for me, but it still tries to send a confirmation code to another device. why can't it just send a SMS to my current number?
I received a very poor experience, calls keep disconnecting, and I keep getting notifications that this app has a bug! I don't get real-time notifications. I have to unlock the phone and open the app to receive calls. The app keeps crashing. I keep getting banned! I wasn't expecting the to witness such!!! I'm experiencing a very weird bug were a contact of mine is duplicated, tells me it's on telegram, when I know the contact in fact IS there, and it then switches the name to "mod####". Now, I really hope security is up date on your end, because it would be a bummer to find out otherwise, and have my device in a vulnerable state for this reason. Also, it's scary! Please look into this, and take it seriously! Thank you!
This app is a very general and decent one to use for chatting to people anywhere in the world. The calls are typically much clearer than Discord, and I love the fact you can send videos of any size, unlike Discord. The reason it only gets a 3 star is because there's no option to delete/block contacts on the mobile version of the app. It's a hinderance to need to get onto a computer to remove a contact you don't want.
I used to really like Telegram X because it let you edit notification settings for group pins and mentions when the official app wouldn't, and it did everything else right too. Alas, recently it stopped working for downloading media. Just won't do it, mobile, WiFi, anywhere. Also hasn't added the group categories feature in months. Oh well, back to the official app.
